Skarner Tips and Tricks
- Skarner is a bit weak in the early game, his most important job is to provide lanes with a lot of pressure, gank with Ixtal's Impact and rush level six because this lets him unlock his ultimate ability.
- It's possible to use Shattered Earth / Upheaval and then cast it again for Shattered Earth / Upheaval, granting you a free ranged skillshot that deals decent damage.
- Skarner's Ixtal's Impact has multiple uses; by default it is a medium range Sion's ultimate that allows you to grab and cc and enemy. Though, it can also be used to run away and path through terrain to avoid getting seen by enemy's wards.
- Your main goal in team fights is to rush into the enemy team and Impale a carry (usually the middle laner or adc) and pull them towards your team so they can finish them off with ease.

Jungle Pathing represents the choices jungle players make in regards to when and where to gank, invade or just path towards. It includes how camps and buffs are cleared between ganks, anticipating counterganks, and spotting opportunities for invading. Effective pathing requires deep understanding of your champion's abilities, their interactions, and how both team compositions play into those choices.
Full clear with a Red Buff start
The recommended jungle path for Skarner is a full clear starting at Red Buff with Shattered Earth / Upheaval for consistent single-target damage. At level two, take Seismic Bastion to improve sustain against Krugs while still dealing bonus damage. Clear Krugs and Raptors to reach level three and unlock Ixtal's Impact for the crowd control and increased jungle mobility. Continue to Wolves, Gromp and Blue Buff reach level four, upgrade Shattered Earth / Upheaval, then secure Rift Scuttler & plan a gank on a nearby river lane.
An alternative start is Blue → Gromp → Wolves into Red side. It mostly boils down to what lane is your win condition (and most often it's going to be Bot lane).
Skarner's early aggression is unlocked at level three with Ixtal's Impact for the crowd control and wall-drilling and Seismic Bastion for the extra slow. These two spells can really pin an enemy down and provided you have allies to follow up with damage, most often than not it results in a first blood.
