Vi Tips and Tricks

  • If Vi hits a champion with Vault Breaker, she applies a stack of Denting Blows on them. Following this up with Relentless Force allows her to proc Denting Blows. Doing this does insane burst damage before the enemy has a chance to react and is a great way to initiate fights.
  • When you're clearing jungle camps, use Vault Breaker to go hit all camp monsters and then position yourself so that Relentless Force blows back towards the jungle. This is because the blast wave is visible and may give away your position to enemy players even if the area isn't warded.
  • Vi has an incredible spell kit which allows her to destroy tanks, blow up squishes and lock down & take out high priority targets.
  • Vault Breaker can be used to dash through walls, allowing Vi to contest objectives and attempt Baron & Dragon steals.
  • It is possible to Flash during the charging & animation of Vault Breaker, allowing you to reposition yourself or cover much more terrain.

Jungle Pathing represents the choices jungle players make in regards to when and where to gank, invade or just path towards. It includes how camps and buffs are cleared between ganks, anticipating counterganks, and spotting opportunities for invading. Effective pathing requires deep understanding of your champion's abilities, their interactions, and how both team compositions play into those choices.

Full clear with a Blue Buff start

BLUE Side Vi full jungle clear starting at Blue Sentinel

The recommended jungle path for Vi is a six-camp full clear starting at Blue Buff with Denting Blows at level one since it results in highest single target damage output. At level two, unlock Relentless Force to speed up stacking [W], then kill Gromp and Murk Wolves to reach level three. Unlock Vault Breaker and continue clearing Raptors, Red Brambleback, and Krugs to reach level four, then upgrade Vault Breaker. At this point you can contest Rift Scuttler and then choose to gank, invade, or recall to buy items.

An alternative start is Red → Krugs → Raptors, which is stronger for early level three pressure if you want to gank Mid.
